Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q:
You are welcome to pick whom you want to work with. Yet, you will need to work with their schedule and availability. Sometimes another clinician may be available sooner.
Can I pick the therapist I would like to work with myself?
A:
Why are some of your counselors not licensed?
We do not require our counselors to be licensed by the state. State licensure can sometimes limit the use of spiritual formation in treatment. Yet, every counselor is required to show either a degree of appropriate and applicable education, preferably a masters degree, as well as experience in the helping services. We hold to a high standard of past and current education.

What can I expect from my first session?
Q:
Your first session is primarily an opportunity to meet your counselor. Come prepared to tell your story and to explain your primary reason for making an appointment. The counselor will ask questions to help you share as well to get any of the details of your story out on the table.
Q:
Do you offer online sessions?
A:
Yes! We offer online sessions via Zoom for clients who live out of town, or for those who are unable to make it in to our offices.
Q:
How do I know that our sessions will remain private?
A:
A:
As a matter of practice and ethics Maple Tree follows all standard confidentiality starts. What is said in session stays within whoever was in session. The only limit set is if the counselor determines that someone is in imminent risk of harming themselves or someone else. That is, if someone has a plan and means and opportunity to follow through on this plan safety measures will be put into place not limited to contacting emergency services and/or a safe and trusted friend or family member.
